Things To Do Before Ganking?

What to do before your prey comes along? How about farming some herb or ore? How about fishing? Maybe even pickpocketing. What do you do to keep yourself busy before your victims come along?

Unexpected Ganking

Sometimes opportunities to gank arise when you'd least expected... I was questing around Arathi Highlands and I finished a few quests with a group of 3 other horde members (4 rogues and 1 priest) when I came across an 2 alliance players (level 40 druid and a mage?). Both groups froze and didn't know what the other was going to do. Suddenly one of the horde rogues decided to "get this party started" and jumped at the mage. We lost that rogue during the melee, but killed the druid and mage. The priest resurrected the dead rogue and we headed back to Hammerfall.

So using the 'Looking For Group' feature can have great results. Try it out if you've never used it before (black and yellow circle button).

Ganking Gear

You don't have to be decked out in blue and purple items, greens will do fine. Finding them might be tricky, but if you do quests and some dungeons you should be set. You can find your equipment on ThottBot.com and WowHead.com.

I would suggest running dungeons to get blue items which might help you to level up quicker and make your job as a ganker easier. And do be courteous to your group members and don't NEED on everything!

And check the auction house frequently for those hard to find items.
